I am the goodest...

I always appreciate my husband's sense of humor.

The other day we were driving in the car. Marcus announced to the family, "I am the goodest in my class at math. I can do my times tables."

Matt replied, "Are you the goodest in your class in English?"

Family Reunion or Mortgage Company Picnic?

Saturday we went to my company party at a park. I just started with a new mortgage company a few months ago, so I was excited to go to their BBQ to meet some of the people that I've only spoken to on the phone. (Our main office is in Provo.) We got the directions to the park from Google, piled the kids in the mini-van, and drove to Pleasant Grove. I made a salad to contribute to the BBQ. Speeding Ticket Wisdom

If you are ever thinking that it would be cheaper to drive to the furniture store and pick up your new furniture to save the $60 delivery fee, keep in mind that if you get a speeding ticket on the way to the store that costs $80, it would've been cheaper to just pay the delivery fee. Also, as you leave the furniture store and drive back down the same road you got the speeding ticket on, and see the same cop pulling someone else over, you may get a dirty look from the cop if you give a little toot on the horn and wave as you pass him.

Out of the mouth of babes...

This past Sunday I taught the Relief Society lesson at church. My lesson was from Elder Renlund's talk at General Conference. http://http//www.lds.org/conference/talk/display/0,5232,23-1-1117-31,00.html We talked about working to keep our hearts from becoming hardened. During the lesson I asked Aubree to play "I am a Child of God" on her violin. I prefaced this with a story from her hospital days. After Aubree was diagnosed with a brain tumor, and had gone through her second brain surgery, she had lost the ability to walk or even sit up. She was 2, and would lay in her hospital bed and often sing, "I am a Child of God." "I am a Child of God, and He has sent me here, Has given me an earthly home, with parents kind and dear. Lead me, guide me, walk beside me, Help me find the way. Teach me all that I must do, to live with Him someday."
